Just for You, Imperfectly

I Make I Talk Joan Bardee

No apologies for rarely posting.  Insert the usual reasons....

Here's a close up of the sentiment.

Love this fun little card.  And so simple to make.  Not. for. me.

1.  Patterned paper.  Easy.  Cut and adhere to card.
2.  Stamp the sentiment and trim.  Pain to trim.  Too small to cut with a trimmer and hand cutting not   perfect.
3. Adhere to center of card.  Missed.
4.  Trim card to make the sentiment in the center.
5.  Search for little heart die.  Oh yeah.  Don't have one.
6.  Stamp heart and hand trim.  Not perfect either.
7.  Adhere heart and add glossy accents to it.  Pop the bubble.  Yes, I do not shake the bottle.

MOOD WHEN DONE = Love the card and loved making it, imperfections and all.

Speech Bubble Set

I like the speech bubble trend, but since it usually involves placing a bubble near a person or animal, I backed off, as I don't do "scenes" very well.  In fact, I don't do them at all.  But, then I saw a speech bubble in the Silhouette store and here we are.   I'll box these up and give them as a gift.

And on another note, thanks so much for the comments last week on the fruity stationery set.  I appreciate it.  I had fun making those cards.

MOOD WHEN DONE = Grateful to have a hobby that gives me so much pleasure.  Today, paper crafting lifted me out of a difficult mood.  I think I'm having a delayed reaction to my Mom's death in February of 2013.  Nothing like a little creativity and a lot of mess to settle down and get back my equilibrium ....

Supplies:

Cardstock:  Stampin Up Kraft (the aqua and purple are also SU, but I do not know the colors)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo and Memories Unicorn (white)
Stamps:  WPlus9 Bitty Valentines (the heart) and Stampin Up Thank You Always
Other:  Silhoutte, adhesive, paper trimmer

Card for Jonah and a Big Thank You

What do you send to a 4 year old boy with kidney cancer, particularly one you do not know?  Frankly, it doesn't really matter as long as it is age appropriate and gets put in the mail, rather then tossed in a box.... .   I went with a cute image and a simple statement that I thought this little boy would understand.

Susan Raihala wrote about Jonah several times on her blog.  She is collecting and delivering cards for him.  That is very sweet and kind of her to do.

Stamps:  WPlus9 Bitty Valentines and gingham background by Impression Obsession
Ink:  Versamagic Aegean Blue and Red Rocket, and Ranger Archival Black
Other:  Ranger Glossy Accents, WPlus9 dies that coordinate with the set, dimensional, $$ to pay for all this stuff

*****

And now some big and sincere thanks.  First to Susan, again, for mentioning my last post on her blog. Very kind.

And thank so very much to each of you who took the time to read and to comment on that post.  I even received a few emails from readers with more to share.  I guess rejection, failure, or feeling like a failure, is a universal experience.  Your comments made me feel so much better about something that happened recently to me that had been bothering me.

And, finally, I am so glad and grateful that some former readers found me again, and I am very happy to welcome new readers.  I do not post as often as I would like to because my job takes up most of my day, and sometimes my evenings as well.  Hopefully that will change!
