noel 2014

Using up some Lawn Fawn Patterned Paper.  And then did it again, this time using Silhouette cut numbers rather than the Dymo Label ones.

Noel and snowflake also cut with the Silhouette.  Love this color combo!  Hope your December is under control.  And, if not, that you don't care too much!

White Pumpkins

Love white pumpkins.  I haven't taken the time this year to do much about autumn or decorating, but did buy two teeny orange pumpkins and a slightly larger white one, and the latter inspired me to make these cards.  The lacy white pumpkins are a cut file from Silhouette. White on Cream and White on Unknown (not Kraft) cardstocks.

MOOD WHEN DONE = Serene
HUSBAND'S COMMENT = Not my colors

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Decided to enter the Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge, which you can find here.

Here is the inspiration photo. It's a beauty.

Easy Halloween Cards

Sometimes using an electronic cutter, such as the Silhouette Cameo or the Cricut, can really save time....

Here I used a file from the Silhouette Studio store, cut out both pieces (the open socks and shoe and a solid shoe) in two different sizes.    For the glitter socks,  I traced the die cut over the glitter paper and hand cut.  Went overboard on the size, so I had to trim the point of the shoe. It's not perfect, but....it works.

For this card, I colored the stripes with Copics.

Both cards have a solid shoe for a backing.

Cut the frames with the Silhouette and used dimensionals to pop up the images -- letting the point of the shoe rest on the frame.

Easy!

Speech Bubble Set

I like the speech bubble trend, but since it usually involves placing a bubble near a person or animal, I backed off, as I don't do "scenes" very well.  In fact, I don't do them at all.  But, then I saw a speech bubble in the Silhouette store and here we are.   I'll box these up and give them as a gift.

And on another note, thanks so much for the comments last week on the fruity stationery set.  I appreciate it.  I had fun making those cards.

MOOD WHEN DONE = Grateful to have a hobby that gives me so much pleasure.  Today, paper crafting lifted me out of a difficult mood.  I think I'm having a delayed reaction to my Mom's death in February of 2013.  Nothing like a little creativity and a lot of mess to settle down and get back my equilibrium ....

Supplies:

Cardstock:  Stampin Up Kraft (the aqua and purple are also SU, but I do not know the colors)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo and Memories Unicorn (white)
Stamps:  WPlus9 Bitty Valentines (the heart) and Stampin Up Thank You Always
Other:  Silhoutte, adhesive, paper trimmer

Fruity Stationery Set, Inspired by Crate and Barrel

Paper crafting is a lot more fun when I just accept the fact that I need lots of inspiration must have something to copy and make my own.  I found these small plates in the Crate and Barrel catalog --

And that got me thinking....

Big vegetables
Big fruit
Silhouette

So I made these:

I Make I Talk Fruity Stationery

And all wrapped up for a gift (I may give this gift to myself.)

Some of the colored card stock is white, colored with Copics.  Other card stock is Stampin Up, which cuts beautifully in the Silhouette.

Next time I make something like this, I'll make sure that all the images are large enough to fall off the edges.

Yum

Merry Christmas

To those of you who celebrate Christmas, I hope your holiday is filled with peace, happiness, and good health.  If your family isn't the Norman Rockwell version of Christmas, then I wish you strength and patience --  and also peace, happiness and good health!

This was the last Christmas card I made for this year -- cut the "joy" with my Silhouette using Stampin Up's gold foil paper.  Hard to see, but there are some white embossed snow flakes under the sentiment. Here's a close up.

Monogrammed

A summery lime,  just to give a bow to the soon departing summer. . .

How I Made This Card:

1.  Cut and scored A Muse Studio card stock into an A2 card, setting aside the remaining half sheet to cut the monogram letters and the envelope liner.  This cardstock is white on the other side, so no need to line the inside of the card with white.

2.  Stamped white stripes and embossed in white.

3.  Cut out initials with Silhouette.

4.  Adhered initials to form my monogram on card.

5.  Stamped screen image onto card stock with white ink.  Because I did not emboss, however, the white ink is more pale and the look more subtle.

6.  Die cut envelope liner and adhered to white envelope.

Tips:

1.  Stamp the stripes so your eye goes from the top left to the bottom right.  This is consistent with the way we read.
2.  You'll get a crisper set of stripes if you use Versamark, rather than a white ink, before you emboss.

And since I liked the first card ....
