Experimented with stamping on top of a background. In this case, I paired some Avery Elle flowers with a classic gingham from Impression Obsession. Still love gingham.
Kept it soft by adding a vellum strip embossed with the sentiment, also from Avery Elle.

Love it, Joan! Glad you had good time away!
ReplyDeleteI love gingham very much. I just bought a bunch of digi pages of it. Beautiful card. Glad you had a nice weekend.
ReplyDeletesounds like a wonderful weekend get-a-way.
ReplyDeleteLove the stamping on top of the gingham...very fun.
Love this card for so many reasons. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of stamping on top of the background. The sentiment on vellum goes so well with the softness of the blue gingham. Love this card! And a weekend getaway is such a treat.! Good for you both!!

I always forget about vellum. I like how you avoided the visible adhesive issue by wrapping it around the back of the panel... I think I'll go try it myself! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. The vellum really softens up your focal point. I have so many fond memories of Cape Cod, but have not been in so very long. As a young professional, I spent 2 weeks at the Chatham Bars Inn, and as a young girl went with my family in the summers. Now, I want to go back again.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love the soft gingham and the vellum together...so very pretty! Fab design, Joan!
ReplyDeleteNice gingham background! Any color, any time -- love that! Pretty with the vellum strip. I like how you tucked the vellum so it didn't have to be adhered. The idea to make a sentiment band over the image is very clever and one to keep in mind.
ReplyDeleteI love this card! How come when I make a simple card it looks- simple. You do it and it looks awesome.
